David Sones

David Sones has worked in the high-tech sector for many years. As a board director with RS Components in Corby (part of the Electrocomponents Group plc), he was responsible for most of the company's technical functions, including the production of its extensive catalogue.

As head of the Emerging Technologies Group, he was responsible for creating the first CD ROM version of this catalogue and later went on to develop the multi-award winning RS web site in conjunction with his colleague, Bernard Hewitt.

He has written extensively for the technical press on the subject of the Internet and Ecommerce and has delivered presentations on the subject at major conferences around Europe.

In a recent (2004) NOP poll of 22,000 online marketing and e-commerce professionals, David has been placed amongst the top 100 individuals in the UK who have influenced the development and growth of e-commerce and the Internet in the UK over the last ten years.
